“If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; AND if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.”

Headquartered in Dublin Ireland, Impact School is a start-up tech school located in Maseru Lesotho. With the aim of producing a minimum of 5,500 Software Engineers by 2030.

The purpose behind the school is to create REAL impact that can be measured and seen. To create an impact that will create REAL software engineers, lead to REAL jobs and REAL contributions in the local and global tech industries.

Impact school was born out of the idea that “we can do better than this”. It’s a story of love for country, filled with highs and lows. The journey of Mamonaheng Koenane arriving home from Europe and noticing the state of education in computer sciences. With 56 years of independence, Lesotho still sources most of its software engineering solutions from South Africa and other countries.

Impact School in partnership with Holberton School will bring to Lesotho Software Engineering courses that will give the youth of Lesotho an opportunity to study for free and earn a qualification that can be used across many countries in the world.
